We’ve been together for over 35 years expressing as social commentary our observations and interpretations of what we’ve experienced and felt with photographs and stories about America. Many of these photographs were taken in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and we think that they reveal an America many people in some parts of the USA yearn for today which has contributed to dividing the country - a country of seemingly simpler times, of opposing values and cultures, and of inequalities - such as when there was much less support for LGBTQ people who were fighting for their rights, for women who were fighting more than today for their place at the work place and out of their traditional roles in the home, social and political events that gave access to the upper class and the wealthy, and African Americans who were as they still are today fighting for their voice, their rights, and their rightful place in society. These are images of what we have witnessed in our communities, with our families and friends, and through our observations of daily life in work, leisure, and family life with our bias and political views. We’ve been working together for over 30 years expressing our observations and interpretations of what we’ve experienced and felt with our photographs about America.
